Seasonal Veg

The reasons for eating according to season are many. One of the main ones are to save on the planets resources by being able to eat what is locally produced, and therefore hasn’t been transported long distances. This also tends to mean the quality of the food is better and fresher.

What’s more, by eating more ‘naturally’ grown food that doesn’t require long periods in greenhouses, less energy is being used. As a bonus locally produced food and foods that are ‘in season’ are generally cheaper, so it’s good for the bank balance too.

So, if you want to do a good deed for Mother Earth, eat in accordance with her offerings.

  • Artichokes
  • Aubergine
  • Beetroot
  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Fennel
  • Potatoes
  • Onions
  • Peppers
  • Spinach
